PROGRAMS
SWE++ offers two programs every year. Learn about them down below!

Winter: SCRATCH
Scratch is a visual programming language that is "written" using blocks. It's great for beginners in coding! We highly recommend middle schoolers to register for this program. During this session, students gain a strong foundation in programming basics. We run this program from January to March 2025.

SPRING: PYTHON
Python is a written coding language that we teach to help students transition to more advanced topics. We encourage high schoolers to register for this program. From this session, students not only increase their understanding of programming fundamentals, but also have an important skill that is widely applicable in many fields.
MICRO:BITS
In the last few weeks of SWE++'s program, we let students use their new programming skills on physical applications. Micro:bits are pocket-sized programmable computers that are used to create interactive projects. They're equipped with LEDs, sensors, buttons, and more!

Engineering-Based Activities
We engage students with activities meant to give them exposure to the many fields of engineering. Some of our engineering-based activities include index card tower building, a paper airplane competition, and applying the engineering design process. Through these activities, we hope to inspire students to pursue STEM and engineering in the future!
